Day 1: Chiclayo
Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel in Chiclayo. Visit to the Huaca Rajada, the tomb where the Lord of Sipan was disovered and transfer to the Valley of the Pyramids in Tucume. The Museum Tumbas Reales de Sipan offers visitors the best presentation of the treasures founds in Huaca Rajada. Overnight in Chiclayo.
Day 2: Chiclayo - Trujillo
Breakfast. In the morning, visit to the Bruning Museum with more than 1400 pieces from different cultures such as the Lambayeque, Moche and Chavin. During the afternoon transfer to Trujillo. Overnight in Trujillo.
Day 3: Trujillo- Chan Chan
In the morning, short tour of Trujillo including the Casa del Mayorazgo, Casa Orbegozo, Casa de la Emancipacion,and La Merced Church. Stroll along the grand central plaza and the streets lined with colonial houses. Then visit to the adobe city of Chan Chan, now famous as the largest mud brick city in the Americas. Once the capital of the Chimú Empire, the city covers an area of 28 square kilometres and is divided into nine zones, each with its own palace, plazas and temples. Afterwards lunch at Huanchaco, a small fishing port where the local people still use the traditional totora reed rafts to fish.
Day 4: Trujillo
A few kilometres south of Trujillo stand the remains of the enormous pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, known as Huacas, or temples. They were built by the Moche culture and were excavated by a team from the University of Trujillo in 1992. The current excavations at the Temple of the Moon have so far unearthed six platforms, each once dedicated to a Moche ruler. The archaeologists have discovered brightly-coloured murals of great beauty and artistry. Transfer to the airport.
