The Chachapoyas, also called the Warriors of the Clouds, were an Andean people living in the cloud forests of the Amazonas region of present-day Peru. This is the lauching site for excursions to the fabolous citadel of Kuélap, built by the Chachapoyas, a fierce people that for years resisted the expansion of the Incas.
