The guided tour to the historical town of “Villa de Leyva” goes through the region of Boyacá. The first stop will be at Boyacá Bridge, where Simón Bolívar and his troops successfully fought for the independence of Colombia in the battle of the 7th of August of 1819. Tunja, the Boyacá capital, is the second stop of the route where visitors will appreciate historical constructions such as the Casa del Fundador and the Cathedral. In the afternoon arrival at Villa de Leyva and overnight. On the next day, guided visit of Villa de Leyva, the Dominican Convent “Santo Ecce Homo”, built in 1620 and of the traditional town of Raquira, famous for its artisan pottery.
