The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is the world's highest coastal range with peaks over 5,700 mts. The Lost City was erected by the Tayrona culture and their people lived there maybe until the 14th century. The terraces of this city were discovered in 1975 and since then the trek became a great adventure for visitors. The trek takes six days, starting at sea level and wandering through the jungle, sleeping in hammocks until the last hundreds of steps of stone will lead to the Lost City.
