Forest Marvels at Heliconia Natural Reserve
Day 1: Bogota – Leticia
Welcome at the airport and transfer to the Hotel. After lodging, city tour of Leticia and Tabatinga (Brazil). At night, dinner and lodging.
Day 2: Leticia – Natural Reserve
Breakfast, boat transfer to the Heliconia Natural Reserve (approx three hours), through the majestic Amazon River and afterwards drive through the Javari River. Observation of beautiful exotic animals such as the famous pink or grey river dolphins, macaws, herons, kingfishers, eagles, butterflies, and other surprises. At night, arrival at the ecological hotel of the reserve, dinner, lodging in the malocas. Night boat tour and caiman watching. Return and lodging.
Day 3: Reserve – Canoeing – Long walk in the forest
Very early in the morning, canoeing to observe Amazons birds and other animals. Return, breakfast, and fishing using traditional methods.
At midday, lunch at the ecological hotel. In the afternoon, long walk in the forest for approximately three hours, observation of flora and fauna. Learning of basic techniques to survive in the forest. Return to the ecological hotel, dinner and lodging.
Day 4: Reserve - Leticia
Breakfast, return to Leticia to take the return flight.
