Day 1: Bogota
Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 2: Bogota - Zipaquira
After breakfast we start a city tour visiting the traditional La Candelaria neighborhood, Bolivar Square, Presidential Palace, the Cathedral, the Congress House, the Gold Museum an Bolivar’s country house. At noon we leave for the town of Zipaquira, where we will have our lunch and then we visit the wonderful Salt Cathedral. Return to Bogota and overnight.
Day 3: Bogota - Villa de Leyva
After Breakfast we depart to the typicial colonial town of Villa de Leyva (4 hours). Stop on the route at Tunja, capital of the region. Overnight in Villa de Leyva.
Day 4 : Villa de Leyva - Bogota
In the morning we visit the historical town of Villa de Leyva, visit to the cronosarium, (dinosaurian exposition) the desert called “Infiernito” and the Convent St. Ecce Homo. On the return way to Bogota we stop at the traditional town of Raquira, where you can admire their handcrafts. Overnight in Bogota.
Day 5: Bogota - Leticia
Reception and transfer from the airport to Leticia in the Amazon Basin. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Leticia - Natural Reserve Heliconia
Breakfast, boat transfer to Heliconia natural reserve (approx 3 1/2 hours), through the majestic Amazon River and afterwards drive through the Javari River. Great exotic beautiful animals will be observed, such as the famous river dolphins (pink or grey), macaws, herons, kingfishers, eagles, butterflies, and other surprises. At night, arrival to the ecological hotel of the reserve, dinner, lodging in the malocas. At night boat tour for Cayman observation. Return to the Lodge and lodging.
Day 7: Natural Reserve Heliconia
Very early in the morning, canoeing to observe Amazons birds and other animals.
Return, breakfast, and fishing using traditional methods. At mid day, lunch in the ecological hotel. In the afternoon, long walk in the forest for approximately three hours, observation of flora of fauna. Learning of basic techniques to survive in the forest. Return to the Lodge, dinner and lodging.
Day 8: Reserve - Leticia - Manizales
Breakfast, return to Leticia to take the flight to Manizales over Bogotá. Transfer to the hotel in Manizales and overnight.
Day 9: Manizales - National Park "Los Nevados"
Breakfast. Full day excursion to the National Park Los Nevados to wander in the Nevado del Ruiz (until 4.700 mts). At this high the visitant will admire lagoons, plants and flowers of the high Colombian mountains like the Farilejones, the plant of the "Paramo". Return to Manizales and transfer to a Coffee Farm in near Armenia. Overnight at the Coffee Farm.
Day 10: Coffee region
Breakfast and transfer to the Coffee Park to learn the history of this important product for Colombia. In the afternoon visit to the Cocora Valley and the with their typical Wax Palms and the marvelous town Salento, dinner and lodging.
Day 11: Coffee region - Neiva
Breakfast and transfer Neiva, crossing "La Línea" Pass (3000 mts). During the afternooh visit to "La Tatacoa Desert", an arid region near Neiva with similar desert Landscapes. This area is well known for astronomical research. Overnight in Neiva.
Day 12: Neiva - San Agustin
Breakfast and transfer to the San Agustin located in the south of Colombia, in the middle of the Andean Region. During the afternoon Visit to the Archeological Park of San Agustin and the Mesitas the Ceremonial Lavapatas Fountain and the Archeological Museum. Overnight in San Agustín.
Day 13: San Agustin
Breakfast. Visit of the Magdalena Strait, the most important colombian river ist at this spot only 2,20 meters wide. During the afternoon horsebackriding to El Tablon and to La Chaquira for one of the nicest Landscapes in Colombia. Dinner and overnight.
Day 14: San Agustin – Cartagena
After breakfast, transfer to the airport in Neiva in order to board our flight to Cartagena. Transfer to the hotel in Cartagena and overnight.
Day 15: Cartagena
Half day visit to the this beautiful city with an amazing history background and the smell of the Caribbean sea.
Day 16: Cartagena
Breakfast. Day free for leisure or optional (USD 95,- )boat tour to the Rosario islands (option for snorkeling or scuba diving). Lunch. In the afternoon return to Cartagena.
Day 17: Cartagena
Transfer to the airport.
